A son of Exceed And Excel, Marwari joined us back in 2019 from Dermot Weld after racing in Ireland. He was purchased from Tattersalls Autumn Sales for £10,000 and he's been a grand servant. Beautifully bred, Marwari is a full brother to stallion Fascinating Rock who currently stands in Ireland. |

Marwari will always be remembered as the horse who gave Joanna Mason her first winner as a professional rider when scoring at Newcastle on New Year's Eve in 2020, and he's been a real yard favourite. |

Offered for syndication in 2022 he attracted little interest, so we ran him in our colours and he obliged by winning three times in the space of six weeks! |

Marwari loved to race prominently and was at his best at Southwell and Newcastle where he liked the track to ride on the slow side. |

We called time on Marwari's racing career after he finished down the field at Ripon. He told us loud and clear that he didn't want to do it any more and we listened. When a horse tells us 'enough' then it's time to do the decent thing as nobody wants to see horses being forced to race when they aren't enjoying themselves. |

Marwari arrived in Northumberland this afternoon just before 2pm. He's settled in well and has had a good look around and he'll love the peace and quiet. He'll now spend his retirement with his new owner Rachel and her family. |

Here at Mick & David Easterby's we'll all miss him as he's been one of our real favourites. "He's a dream horse and definitely deserves it", said Beth who was one of Marwari's work riders. He was also a favourite of work rider Sarah who said "I'm so glad he really deserves it and he's such a sweetie". We all wish them both many happy years together, and thank you Marwari for the memories. You did us all proud! |
