Two Brothers wins on seasonal debut at Thirsk

Two Brothers was a convincing winner this evening at Thirsk on his seasonal debut.
The son of Sir Percy took the 'Follow @vickersracing On X Handicap' under Billy Garritty for owners Gavin and Oli Thompson.
Two Brothers has been a revelation since the fitting of headgear and he recorded his fourth career victory in style, scoring by two and a quarter lengths form Fleur De Mer. He was winning off a career-high mark of 86, four pounds more than when successful at York last September.
Two Brothers and Billy Garritty.
As a two- and three-year old the son of Sir Percy had been a difficult horse with whom to win. It took 18 races before he finally got his head in front, having been a maiden throughout his first two seasons. Two Brothers also had a reputation as a bit of a rascal.
He'd sometimes drop his jockey on the gallops during morning training and in May 2022 unseated rider Jonny Peate when leaving the parade ring at York before running loose. His chance blown he trailed in 17th of the 18 runners.

Two Brothers is now a reformed character. He was in fine fettle in 2023 having notched up wins at Beverley, Carlisle and York. The key to his upturn in form was the visor, after which he's never looked back. Quite literally!
Two Brothers will now go hunting some good middle distance prizes and he looks likely to become the top-rated horse in the yard when the new handicap marks are published on Tuesday.
