Rehome update: Ashkhabad retraining in Cleveland

Earlier this year we rehomed six-year-old mare Ashkhabad.

A good looking daughter of Harzand, she had raced six times but hadn't the speed to win and she had clearly fallen out of love with racing.

Rehomed to an idyllic spot on the edge of the North York Moors she is now owned by Rachel.

Rachel sent us a picture of Ashkhabad in the beautiful scenery of Cleveland overlooking Roseberry Topping.

Ashkahbad has had a summer break and is now being long-reined.

"I'm hoping to get on board next week," says Rachel. "She has had a lovely holiday mostly in the field for a couple of months almost, while doing some in-hand and liberty work. She's seen the vet, farrier, dentist, physio, nutritionist and bit fitter. The eventual hope is some eventing, will see what happens!"
