Friday morning gallops update

A little update as our horses are seen training on Friday morning. Several horses have come back into training over the past few weeks with an eye on an autumn campaign. It's also the time of year that we start to increase the work for the new jumps horses. We have some nice prospects, most of which are as yet unnamed, who you'll see at the back end of the year.

Knicks

Knicks is seen cantering with Joanna Mason riding. Knicks joined us from Karl Burke last autumn and was a winner at Chester earlier this year. He's an out and out sprinter and a very fast horse, his trip is five furlongs.

Keep Warm

Keep Warm was a dual winner in 2023 as a juvenile. We call him 'Buggerlugs' on account of his big ears. He's a real yard favourite and last raced at York in July where he was runner up. He runs best with some give in the ground.

Sheriff's Call has had some time off after racing twice as a juvenile. He's back in full training now and he's seen here ridden by Parthena.

Mister Camacho

Another horse on the sidelines has been Mister Camacho. He runs for the Lee Westwood Syndicate and he's back in training and waiting for the soft ground! He was a winner last year at Catterick in the mud and he'll be back later this year.

Spirit Of Acklam

Spirit Of Acklam has been having a break over the summer. He needs the soft ground and so will have an autumn campaign. He won on his seasonal debut at Ripon and also was a winner as a juvenile at Ayr in September 2023. He's a big horse and has needed time to grow and he's improving. He is also one of the few horses at the yard who hasn't been gelded.

Reach

Reach has been a revelation since joining us in 2021 from Tattersalls Mares Sale. She's won almost £100,000 in prizemoney and may run at York's Ebor meeting where she would defend the race she won in 2023.

Lever Up

A new name for many will be Lever Up, a juvenile by Ulysses who is proving himself to be a very good sire. Lever Up is yet to race and will be seen later this summer.

Glorious Kitty

Glorious Kitty ran well on her debut at York in the Marygate Stakes. She is highly regarded and holds an entry in the Group 2 Lowther Stakes.

Beauty Choice

Beauty Choice has been a great servant to his owners over the last nine months, with three victories. He acts on the all weather and also soft ground. he had a short break after running at Haydock but is now in work and will return shortly.

Moonlight Monarch

Moonlight Monarch is getting ready to return in the autumn. He has had a few setbacks since finishing runner up over hurdles at Kelso in January 2023 but he's showing the right signs now. Eleanor Hollings is riding him on the gallops.

Roll It In Glitter

Roll It In Glitter hasn't sparkled this season. He was a winner at Ayr and at Beverley in 2023 but his 2024 campaign has been disappointing. Beth Parkin rode him out on Friday morning.

Dartmouth x Falcon's Gunner store

A nice prospect for the autumn in bumpers is this filly by Dartmouth. She is a half-sister to our Graded winner Sam's Gunner. She's bred to be a jumper and only came in earlier this year having enjoyed her time in the field as a two-year-old.

Hazy Glen

Hazy Glen is a big grey gelding by Lawman. He won on his debut at Carlisle in a bumper and has been in the frame in all three of his starts over hurdles. He's back in after an early summer break and we'll have him ready for the autumn.

This Years Love

This Years Love has won twice at Beverley this season, and he went close in a hat-trick bid at Pontefract. He is seen here with Eleanor riding before running at Haydock at the weekend.

Miss Brazen

Miss Brazen has an entry at Thirsk next week. She was a winner last year at Beverley in soft ground and is now showing signs of hitting form. She's been placed in two of her last three races.

Call To Action

Call to Action joined us from Karl Burke in February after winning at Newcastle. He's a very nice prospect and ran well on his stable debut. However, he was disappointing in his next race when stopping quickly. Hopefully he'll bounce back as he has something to prove again now.

Sondad

Sondad has been a revelation this year. Already a dual winner he is the pride and joy of owner Gary Routledge. Sondad is names after Gary's packaging business in Bradford and he's proving a good buy. Sondad is a huge gelding and we gave him plenty of time to develop after a light juvenile campaign. We also have Sondad's own-brother, Frankyboy, in training and he is owned by On Top Racing who also own Two Brothers. There are still a few shares available.

Also out on Friday was Refuge, ridden by Serena. Refuge runs at his favourite track, Hamilton Park, on Tuesday and Lewis Chalkley will ride.
