This Years Love made a successful return to Beverley this evening by taking the 'Jacksons Of Yorkshire Handicap'.

A winner on The Westwood last month, the three-year-old son of Havana Gold was ridden by in-form jockey Joanna Mason who was riding her fourth winner of the week. The pair hit the front in the final half furlong after a determined finish on Beverley's stiff home straight to come home a length in front of Evelyn's Phoenix at odds of 2/1.

This Years Love was purchased at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale in 2022 and runs in the colours of local coach operator Andrew Morse. He's now won two of his three starts in 2024 and looks open to plenty more improvement.

"I fancied him strongly tonight", said trainer Mick Easterby after the race. "He'll get further in time. He's a half brother to a decent jumps winner and he'll get a trip."

"Joanna's going well, I underestimated her to start with but she's good and you can't keep her down. She's a brilliant jockey."
