Chicago Gal recorded her first career win this afternoon when she took the 'Rasen Rocks On Saturday 17th August Conditional Jockeys' Novices' Limited Handicap Hurdle'.

After running a very nice race when finishing second at Wetherby in March the five-year-old went one better this afternoon under conditional rider Patrick Wadge. Coming from way off the pace to finish strongly she hit the front in the last few strides to collect the £3,697 first prize.

We'd been waiting for the ground to dry up since Wetherby and the drier weather gave her the surface she needed as she beat Cofficionado by half a length. She was returned at odds of 11/2.

Chicago Gal has returned to the track in fine form after missing most of 2023 after sustaining an injury on the all-weather at Kempton Park.

Owned by an enthusiastic syndicate she's a real yard favourite and we hope she can continue her winning ways now she's lost her maiden tag.
