Refuge took his career tally to seven this evening when he took the 'Jaimie Kerr Memorial Handicap' at Beverley.

The seven-year-old son of Harbour Watch beat Opal Storm by a length and was returned at odds of 7/1.

Refuge was led up by Katie Midgley who also collected the best turned out prize before the race.

Chicago Gal brought up the double by winning the 'Sky Bet Supporting Matt Hampson Foundation Handicap' over ten furlongs. It was her first win on the flat from 13 attempts, her sole previous success coming over hurdles at Market Rasen in May.

Chicago Gal missed much of last year after sustaining injury at Kempton which saw her off the track for nine months. However she's come back better than ever and she's been a revelation since joining from Alan King. The daughter of Cityscape has now won two races and placed five times from just 12 starts since we purchased her for just 1,500 guineas at Tattersalls Autumn Sale in 2022.

Billy Garritty was the jockey in the saddle for both victories as he recorded his fourth and fifth winners for the stable in 2024.
