Chicago Gal second on jumps debut

Chicago Gal ran a great race on her jumps debut this afternoon. Chicago Gal was making her first start for the new Chicago Gal Partnership and will have gained valuable experience when finishing two lengths behind favourite Artistic Choice - a horse rated 78 on the flat - at a fog-bound Catterick. Finishing fourth in the race was Noble Anthem, a horse rated 86 on the flat who has also been placed over timber earlier this month.

Chicago Gal had schooled well at home and enjoys jumping and we certainly have a promising hurdler on our hands!

By way of a very strange coincidence, the winner of the race, Artistic Choice, was out of a mare called Chicago Girl. Could the fact that the name 'Chicago Girl' had been used before be the reason for our filly being named Chicago Gal rather than 'Girl' by her former owners?
