It's a perishingly cold morning as Stanage and Spirit Of Acklam head out on the gallop together with both horses holding entries in the Lincoln at Doncaster on 29th March. A total of 103 entries have been made for the race in which 22 can run. At present the lowest rated horse that would qualify stands on a mark of 96 and with Stanage rated 84 and Spirit Of Acklam currently on 80 they rely on a significant number of horses to come out in order to get a run. Of course this the first round of entries and horses may be taken out at later stages. Spirit Of Acklam is a two-time winner, and has been gelded during his winter break. He looks in fine shape and we're looking forward to 2025 with him. Stanage joined us at the end of 2024 and has raced just once for his new owners, Nick Bradley Racing. He was previously trained by John and Thady Gosden and won for his previous yard last October before heading to the sales. |
