We were delighted to hear from Marie this morning with an update on our old friend Adaay With Michael. 'Michael' ran four times on the flat but hadn't the speed to win a race and we decided to retire him last year. A lovely calm and quiet boy he was an excellent lead horse and had the job of leading and educating some of the younger horses on the gallops.
Michael was with us since he was a foal, and he had all of his education here at New House Farm. However, it was clear he wasn't enjoying being a racehorse and in July 2024 he left the yard to spend his retirement with Marie and his breeder Elizabeth Grundy at Benington Bury Farm Stud near Stevenage.
It was a pleasure to see Michael return to the place he was born, and he will now live out the rest of his life back 'home' and he'll want for nothing.
