Spirit Of Acklam will drop back to a mile on Thursday for his all weather debut. Joanna Mason will ride the son of Cracksman as he lines up for the 'Safer Gambling Tools At BetMGM Handicap' at Southwell. Spirit Of Acklam will carry bottom weight as he sneaks into the race at the foot of the handicap where Peter Chapple-Hyam's Rogue Encore looks the horse to beat as he bids for a hat-trick of wins having scored twice at Newcastle already this month. In the colours of Amity Finance, Spirit Of Acklam has won two races from just six starts, including a victory on his seasonal debut at Ripon back in April. He is a horse who has been at his best on soft ground and the all weather is an unknown quantity! |

Spirit Of Acklam is the apple of owner by Maxwell Morrison's eye. Maxwell visits his horse every week with a treat of fresh carrots. Joining in with the treats is his multiple winning mare Reach, and also King Of The Jungle who has been 'adopted' after winning Maxwell's affections. The 'King' kicks at his stable door when he sees Maxwell and it's impossible to leave him out! |
