Eligible put a smile on everyone's faces on the Knavesmire this afternoon by recording the 2,500th winner of Mick Easterby's career on his home course of York.

Expertly ridden by Connor Beasley he came from last to first to take the 'Yorkshire Equine Practice Handicap' by a neck.

Eligible was bought back from Tattersalls Sales last year as we knew had more races in him and he has won three times since coming back home.

It's been a difficult week after the tragic loss of Dubai Instinct on Tuesday but Eligible has put a smile back on our faces.

Eligible was recording his sixth career win
