It's been a good week. The last few days have seen two huge priced winners with Contrast obliging at Nottingham at 40/1, a 13th seasonal winner for the Laura Mason Syndicate and Pardon Me winning at Uttoxeter this afternoon at 18/1 for owner John Brown. We gather some of you were on the nose this afternoon at 33s and 25s and also a few each-way Lucky 15s came up. If you fancy treating us with your winnings then we know someone who is partial to a packet or three of Werther's. Creamy Toffees, Butter Candies, Creamy Fillings, he really doesn't mind. And now of course the old adage that 'sweets rot your teeth' no longer applies. The two horses at Newmarket this afternoon ran well and were placed with Joanna in the saddle and old Albert's Back was unlucky at Wetherby, where he went down by a neck. At home we're busy breaking in the yearlings. The preparations for the 2023 flat season are well underway and this week the 100 Club 2023's Adaay yearling was backed and ridden away. Many don't realise the work involved, but with another five months to go until next year's turf season begins at Doncaster the work has already begun here at New House Farm. We've been at the Sales this week, buying six new horses, and we'll introduce them to you in the coming weeks. On the Syndicates front, we have launched our first jumps syndicate as shares in Chicago Gal can now be purchased. Everyone is very excited about seeing her tackle hurdles as she's proved a superb jumper when schooled this week. |
