Min-till (minimum tillage) means cultivating land using mechanical methods other than ploughing. In theory, min-till improves organic matter because it isn't broken down by exposure to the air and, therefore, helps conserve soil structure. It's good for fields at risk of soil erosion as residue is kept on the soil surface, creating a mat that holds the top profile of the soil.
