The flat season comes to a close for 2026 at Catterick on Tuesday as we send three runners to the North Yorkshire track where the ground is soft after plenty of rain.

Valentina Bonita is first up in the Racing To School EBF Maiden Stakes. She put in a much improved run last time when third of seven at Nottingham and she remains in maiden company having not being awarded a rating after her third run.

Knicks is on a long losing run and he'll be aiming to notch up a long overdue victory as he lines up for the second division of the Celebrating Helen Mackinnon's LX Years Handicap where he steps up to six furlongs having raced over the minimum distance in his last 10 outings. The son of Invincible Spirit now has a losing run of 29 races, his last win coming at Chester in May 2024 when he won at Chester from the outside stall. He's now 15 pounds below that winning mark and drops into 0-60 company for the first time as he shoulders top weight.
The Resdev Scholar had a fine campaign last autumn with three wins on the bounce and he'll bid to get back to winning ways in the Every Race Live On Racing TV Handicap. He's a horse who will love the soft ground, having already recorded two wins on heavy surfaces, and he drops back to seven furlongs having last raced over a mile at Haydock earlier this month.
