Friday: Diligent Resdev and Bear Lee for the Knavesmire

York host their penultimate afternoon of racing for the season on Friday and we send two horses to the Knavesmire.

Bear Lee has her seventh start of her juvenile career as she lines up for the Parsonage Hotel And Cloisters Spa Nursery Handicap. Nine runners go to post in the five furlong contest and our filly will be assisted by Joanna Mason.

Bear Lee was a winner at Musselburgh in June having arrived earlier this year from the breeze up sales and the daughter of Kodi Bear has run well here twice over six furlongs. She drops back to the minimum trip today, the distance over which she won in Scotland, and we hope for a big race.

Noble Raider tops the weights having won easily at Doncaster in May but he has a five month absence to overcome. If he's below par then Instant Force has recent match practice having won at Windsor last month and could be the one they all have to beat.
Diligent Resdev

Diligent Resdev, who has a date at Tattersalls Autumn Sale later this month, runs in the PJ Staffing Group Apprentice Handicap over seven furlongs. A horse with plenty of ability, he won the Ayr Bronze Cup in 2024 but has been mainly campaigned over seven furlongs since his last victory. Shay Farmer rides, and our horse will carry a visor to help him.

Diligent Resdev has York form, having won here at odds of 40/1 in 2024, and he's now rated a pound below his Ayr-winning mark. His winning form has been on good ground and also the all weather, but he's handled cut when placed on soft and good to soft surfaces at Redcar and Musselburgh.
