Two-year-old Asander became our second juvenile winner of the season when he took the Say When Gosforth And Ponteland EBF Restricted Novice Stakes at Newcastle this afternoon.

Having just his second racecourse outing, the son of Saxon Warrior defeated the 7/4 favourite Mirzimaan by a short head and was returned at odds of 50-1.

Asander was winning in the red and white colours of owner Brian Padgett and was ridden by Billy Garritty.
