Shimmering Sands continued his love affair with Pontefract Park this afternoon as he took the Racing TV Amateur Jockeys' Handicap under Henry Callan. Very much the form amateur of the moment, Callan was recording his fourth win from his last five rides as the 2/1 favourite breezed to an easy victory.

Running for the first time in the colours of Mark Hickling, Shimmering Sands hit the front a furlong out and handed an easy beating to Tim Easterby's Yermanthere who passed the post seven lengths behind the winner.
