Biographer joined us in February 2024 from Andrew Balding, having previously won at Lingfield Park. However, he was quick to tell us that he'd already fallen out of love with racing and that he didn't want to be a racehorse any more.

A spectacularly good-looking and beautifully bred gelding by Oasis Dream standing at over 16 hands he was rehomed in autumn of the same year and now lives with Kiera near Edinburgh.

Now known as Broch, he's enjoying life and we were delighted to hear from Kiera with an update.

"Broch comes up to his official fifth birthday next week," says Kiera. "He's schooled away beautifully the last quarter of the year and enjoyed some field time over winter to process and be a horse! He's came back into work an absolute gentleman, his working away so sweetly and I am thoroughly enjoying taking our time learning all things new."

"He's the most laid back soul when he wants to be so much so my friends little girl has been riding him and had him over a cross pole. He's a real gem."

"We are so lucky with the grass we have on our yard, you might not believe me but over winter all he's been on is grass and haylage in the field."

"Until I brought him back into work and he's been getting a hard feed here or there."

"I think taking our time last year and letting him chill out was the best thing I've done, we worked with him slowly and got him going in a really nice place and it improves every time so will be able to push on this year to get out to shows and fun rides and hoping to make some hunt rides come the end of the year."

A big thank you to Kiera for giving our old friend such a lovely home and a happy life and if you do have an ex-Mick & David Easterby racehorse we'd love to hear from you!
