The Resdev Tyke was a game winner of the
Ladies Day Price Freeze On Tickets Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle
over an extended two miles at Market Rasen this afternoon.
Sent off as the 11/10 favourite he was held up in rear by jockey Ben Smith before making headway to the chase the leaders after three out. He led before the second last but didn't jump fluently and then made a mistake at the last hurdle. Headed by Character Testing after the last The Resdev Tyke stayed on well on the run in and hit the front on the line to become our first jumps winner of 2026. The winning margin was a head with Shan't Wait six and a half lengths back in third place.
The five-year-old son of Schiaparelli had recorded his maiden career victory at Wetherby on Boxing Day and defied the six pound rise in the weights to post back to back wins.
