It's eleven weeks ago since we appealed for a foster mare to help out with the orphaned filly foal from our late mare Chip N Pin. Katey answered our call and kindly loaned her mare Poco to help out. We now know the foal as 'Connie', an abbreviation of 'Contactless', the name which was given to her at Norton Grove Stud where she was born. Things couldn't have gone better and here are some pictures of Poco and Connie out in the field. Poco is a brilliant foster mare and she looks after Connie well and keeps her quite a distance from the rest of the herd. A big thank you to Katey Catcheside who provided Poco, Norton Grove Stud and the vets at Equine Reproductive Services in Malton, all of whom played their part in saving Connie's life. |
