Contrast enjoying his summer break

Racehorses need a break now and again, just like the rest of us, and it's important that they have time away from training to keep their bodies and minds sound.

Contrast's best form is with some give in the ground and there's no point running him when the surface dries up, so summer's a good time to enjoy time out.

A break means lots of field time, relaxing and munching grass, and he has a few acres worth of paddock in which to enjoy himself with his friends.

The pictures show Contrast out in the field with Hazy Glen and Unplugged. They're friendly souls and will come to the edge of the field to greet their visitors. Whilst Contrast and Hazy Glen are on holiday Unplugged is in training but joins his pals when he's done his canters.

Contrast has been a great servant and since joining us in 2019 he's won six races. The chestnut son of Dutch Art is now ten years old but showed that age is no barrier by winning at Ripon back in May.

We look forward to seeing him race later in the year but for now he can enjoy the warm weather.
