Diligent Resdev was a debut winner today at Newcastle. A son of Due Diligence, his first race was delayed several times due to waterlogged tracks but there was no such problem at Newcastle today as he took the six furlong 'Virgin Bet Best Odds Daily Cock O'The North EBF Maiden Stakes'.

He was given a brilliant ride by Billy Garritty who got a dream passage up the stands side rail to win on the line. Billy has now ridden 14 winners for the yard in 2023 and has been in great form.
