Carlton And Co lost her maiden tag at Newcastle this evening when she won the seven furlong 'Free Tips Daily On attheraces.com Fillies Handicap' under Shane Gray. She'd proved hard to win and was winning at the thirteenth time of asking but she battled hard to hold off Rockin Rosa at the finish.
The victory was just reward after some near misses, having been narrowly beaten last year at Pontefract and Redcar.
The winning margin was half a length and Carlton And Co was returned at odds of 9/2.
