Ex-racehorse update: Skye Dreaming

Thu 11 May 2023News

It was wonderful to hear from Eve Redfern today with news of our former racehorse Skye Dreaming.

A son of Dabirsim, he was bought at Tattersalls Sales in 2018 as a foal. From a good family, he's a half-brother to 100+ rated hurdler Dynamite Kentucky.

Named 'Skye Dreaming' he went into training here in 2019 and ran once on the flat and twice over hurdles. He last raced at Southwell in May 2021 where he was pulled up.

He wasn't a racehorse and if a horse doesn't want to race we will never force racig upon him or her and we'll find them a new vocation.

Skye found a new career out of racing with Eve.

In May 2023 Skye did his first big show at Windsor where Eve and Skye finished ninth of 26 in the ROR In Hand class.

"He did absolutely amazing his first big show we got 9th out of 26 we are so pleased", said Eve. "He's a true gent, we can really tell he’s had the correct start in life his manners are impeccable. He's a favourite on the yard as he loves lots of kisses and cuddles. His attitude to his new career has been fantastic so far he's so calm."

We wish Eve and Skye much success in the future. Skye is only a young horse and has many years of shows ahead!
