Albert's Back returned to his favourite track this afternoon to record his fifth career win. He took the two mile 'Join Racing TV Now Handicap Hurdle' under Brian Hughes, who has ridden him to all five of his wins. He loves two miles on soft ground around Wetherby and today's race ticked all the boxes as he beat Hardy Du Seuil at odds of 15/2. David Easterby was in attendance to see Albert's Back win for the first time since 2020 but Michael stayed at home, preferring a quiet day at New House Farm after the previous day's birthday exploits. We think Albert's Back can win off a higher mark but opportunities are few and far between as he needs very soft ground, and, of course, Wetherby! An hour later Where's Hector almost made it a double, going down by a head in the three mile handicap chase. It was the sixth time he has finished runner-up in ten career starts. |
