Jane Roy made her debut at Ripon in June 1979. She didn't win on the flat but in 1981 she won the 'Bowes Novice Handicap Hurdle' at Stockton at odds of 2/1. She was part of a double for the stable, with Apple Wine also winning, and the first ever treble for jockey Phil Tuck.
